I believe a person can only be taught design to a certain extent, the rest relies on a natural talent from within.
I have always had an eye and passion for buying and selling real estate. My primary focus has been on interior design, construction, and management of both commercial hospitality projects, as well as multiple multi-million-dollar coastal beachfront homes along the Eastern Australian seaboard. My goal and challenge was to always increase the value of a property to maximise it's potential and profit. The highest price for a residential home selling for a cool 17 million after it was redesigned within 12 months, reached a profit margin of 4 million dollars.
Over the years I have had extensive experience not only in building and designing award winning venues, but more importantly, I have had experience in managing and overseeing them as well. The knowledge of understanding a venue's important functionalities, initiates a significant edge to the majority of designers when it comes to a good commercial design and what is needed.
Returning to study modern day interior design some years ago and my extensive experience has taught me not only the importance of well organised, prior planning for a project, but also about the significance of having a highly efficent and hard working team behind you.

Senior Interior Design
Mel lives and breathes good design with a passion. An expert in space planning, layouts and cabinetry design, with an eye for finer details. Trained in Auckland New Zealand with over 30 years’ experience in commercial and residential Interior Design throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Featured in Belle, Vouge Australia, Home Beautiful, Trends and Country Style magazines.

Kath
Interior Designer
Kathleen Martin is a creative who envisions the prosperity of design to transform daily life. Kathleen has achieved her Advanced Diploma in Interior Design.
Whilst studying and working for Hamptons Design Co as well as visual merchandising of her own pop up stalls, she’s been a confident high achiever gaining a high level of enthusiasm for design with a strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail. In addition Kathleen always exudes herself with a five-star personal presentation.
Driven with her fashion styling and creative designs, Kathleen has been involved in Fashion shows dedicated for social justice organizations giving her a meticulous eye to observe current trends and accentuating her self-motivated and attentive nature.
Raquel
Interior Designer
Raquel Wys is an innovation Interior Designer who lives and breathes creativity.
Whilst excelling in her study, working full time and working three jobs, Raquel managed to establish her own homeware collection and proves time management is key! With a strong passion for design, unique homewares and textiles, Raquel was awarded the most ‘Aspiring Young Women in Business Award’ in 2015. Not to mention, she is our flatlay queen!
What Raquel loves most about her job is being able to envision a projects full potential, whilst incorporating our signature Hamptons Design Co touch and seeing it come to life.
